Bali Vacation Villa
Experience the exquisite nature and culture of Bali, while staying in our affordable handmade villa on the ricefield in the Kenyam Bulan (Smiling Moon) neighborhood of Pejeng, a village close to UBUD, the center of Balinese culture and art, and fabulous scenery.
The villa has 3 levels plus a sleeping nook in the crow's nest. The lowest level has a kitchen, 2 bedrooms, each with bath, and an outdoor living area under roof. The 2nd level has 2 bedrooms, a large bath with tub and garden, and spacious living areas open to the gardens. The upper level has the same floor plan with the addition of the kitchen. We plan to add a kitchen on the 2nd level this summer.
The house can sleep 6 couples, and an additional single or couple in the crow's nest.
We are open to long term rentals on the 1st and 2nd levels. Marty occupies the 3rd level each summer and accepts guests on the lower leverls at that time and operates Healing Retreats during that time. (seewww.balihealingretreat.com)
The house comes with our wonderful housekeeper who will cook by arrangement, transfers to and from Denpasar Airport, and our Balinese host, Dewa, who speaks English well, and will troubleshoot any problems, and is available for hire as a driver/tour guide. We have known Dewa and his family for almost 20 years and they are wonderful!
The house is fully equipped, with hot water in the bathrooms and bottled drinking water always available. There is also a tv and dvd player and a library of dvds that may be checked out for use. There are many restaurants and spas in Ubud, as well as supermarkets with western food. We have our own massage table at the house and a list of local massage therapists who will provide in home massage.
Bali offers many sightseeing and artistic opportunities, cultural events, especially through the temple ceremonies which you are welcome to attend. There are 2 temples close to the house and Balinese temple costumes available on loan, if you'd like to experience the beautiful ceremonies, often with Balinese dance and gamelon music.
The Villa is located in the cool hills, where temperatures are comfortable and sleeping is easy with the sound of running water and nature in your ears. Day trips to beach locations are fun, and it's always lovely to return to the peaceful, cooler hills at night.
